AUSJAL Partnership
The University Network for Human Rights is proud to announce its new partnership with thirty universities across Latin America through the Asociación de Universidades Confiadas a la Compañía de Jesús en América Latina (AUSJAL). AUSJAL brings together Jesuit universities in Mexico, Central America, and South America. The partnership is a major development for human rights clinical education in the Americas.
The Asociación de Universidades Confiadas a la Compañía de Jesús en América Latina is a leading network of Jesuit universities. Building on the longstanding Jesuit tradition of social justice and academic excellence, AUSJAL unites leading research and teaching centers in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, the Domincan Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
Through the agreement, the University Network will work with individual universities to develop and strengthen interdisciplinary clinics in human rights advocacy. Clinics will train students to work with and advance the agendas of communities facing rights abuse.
